Lena has a blog entry on seeing Neal and getting her copy of Snow Crash autographed (with a PIC!)
We have (via the Neal Stephenson Community’s LiveJournal Site) an unsubstantiated claim that Neal is speaking at Google (roughly one year to the day +1 of his last visit to Kirkland). We’ll update you if we find out anymore about this.
Update: It seems that we have confirmation that Neal is indeed going to speak at Google Headquarters in Mountain View on Friday. Hopefully more to come…
Update 2: In the comments is a link to a video of the talk!
io9 has a review of Anathem up with a pretty good, substantive look at the book we ALL want to read.
Over here Legend Mag, they are having a giveaway for tickets to the Long Now Foundation Neal Stephenson/Anathem party they are having. So if you are close by and don’t have tickets here’s your chance!
The Beyond will feature Neal Stephenson TAKING LIVE CALLS!!!! So think up your questions fast, he’ll be on their show Thursday 4th Sept. Here is the info from the EOS books blog.
Here is the 1st of (what I hope!) are many appearances that Neal Stephenson will be making with the release of Anathem.
Third Place Books Sunday September 14th at 5:30pm Neal will be there. Not a lot of details here to work with.
University of Washington Bookstore, on September 9th, tickets $5 or free ticket with purchase of a book!
Oh and here is the list from Harper Collins
that’s it for now…
KK.org, has an interesting article about the 10,000 year Clock and how it relates to Anathem. Plus there are some details on tickets to the Long Now’s event and book signing $45 seems like a bargin, but I am a bit outside of the average commute (approx. 1800 miles give or take) not that I am totally counting out!
Well really it is a pic from SciFoo, that we noted earlier, much thanks to Bee!
