Ask Neal about Anathem

May 23rd, 2008

It seems the EOS Books blog has a little something of an inside track to Mr. Stephenson, and they are going to harvest the best questions (posted or e-mailed) and he will answer them via a video post to the site.  You leave your questions at the link above or e-mail them directly to eosbooks at harpercollins.com.  But HURRY you only have until Tuesday May 26th to get your questions in.

Early Reviewers Copy of Anathem

May 23rd, 2008

Well I don’t know about you but someone is having a MUCH better week than I am.  It seems Sara has managed to find an excellent way to spend the weekend, reading her Early Reviewers copy of Anathem!  I suppose good news for the rest of us would be that there are copies out there, not here, but out there somewhere…

Gresham College Reviews

May 12th, 2008

While awaiting Tombstone’s own coverage of the Gresham engagement (with pics!), MSSV.net has a good detailed account of what Neil discussed, all in all sounds like it as a VERY good talk given by Mr. Stephenson.  Torque Control also covered the noted event as well.

UK Anathem Cover unveiled

May 9th, 2008

Ilya was once again right on top of Amazon.co.uk changing the cover image. The UK cover is substantially different from the US version (and IMO more aesthetically pleasing).

Little Brother

May 8th, 2008

OK, I have to admit that I read Little Brother in a day, loved it!  But I have tried to think of why I wanted to post something here (it’s a bit off topic huh?) and I finally found this.  I knew that something was reminescent of Stephenson, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.  Was this is the reason?  Someone else thinks that there is a connection there too, maybe I was on to something.  It was certainly a good way to pass the time waiting for Anathem.

Steampunk: The Anthology

May 2nd, 2008

Cory Doctorow from BoingBoing.net brings news of Steampunk: The Anthology, including pieces from James Blaylock, Michael Moorcock, oh and Neal Stephenson.  Sounds like it might be a good way to pass the time until Anathem released.
